Almost there!

The progress we have made on our project is incredible! The different group’s responsibilities are all merging together, and it’s pretty amazing to watch. Our project is less than a month away and I must say I am pretty excited to watch the impact we are going to have on this community. My group is applying for a Rotary grant and we are hoping to match the amount with our Thrivent Financial  grant($250). Last week, our secured chef, Chef Ky came into our class and gave us some ideas on how much the food would cost, and what the best ingredients to purchase for those meals would be. Me and two of my group members went to the Enumclaw Middle School and checked out the culinary room, (which is the room we will be using in our project) and it was so amazing to look at that room and know, that in less than a month, it will be transformed into the workplace of a life changing project. This past week, our class was featured in the Courier Herald, our local newspaper, and it was very empowering to know that our community is taking notice of what we are doing in our classroom. I am so excited to see how this project turns out, I love knowing that we are making a difference in our community!

The main goal of our project is to educate those who are food insecure. This is a short video explaining what it means to be food insecure. Enjoy!
